Glutard. Those annoying people who pretend to be gluten intolerant. Because it’s trendy. Because it’s “healthy”. Because you’re a hipster and you don’t really think for yourself anymore anyway.
I sometimes follow Robin Cork at Swallowtail and I got this new, wonderful word from her blog post today on some top Vancouver food trends to love and hate. I have to say, I agree. Happily, one trend I am loving are more restaurants specializing in local and ocean wise food. I actually found out about Swallowtail last year, when I went on a wild mushroom tour of Lynn Canyon, on the North Shore. It doesn’t get more local than that. Yums.
